About Our Worship

At our Sunday morning services at 10:30 a.m., we embark on a transformative journey. We give thanks, find peace, and experience the challenge of living full of love, wonder, integrity, and joy. We sing hymns and songs, engage with words from our ministers and members, and share quiet time in prayer and meditation. We aim to leave a little more hopeful, compassionate, and wise - committing ourselves anew to service and justice.

Our worship honors the many faith perspectives within our Congregation and our world and celebrates our shared community. It nurtures our sense of togetherness, inviting all to join us in this bond. We look forward to seeing you soon and to growing our community together!

Our Congregation’s worship is a mixture of traditional and contemporary.

Elements of a typical Sunday morning worship service might include:

  • Words of welcome

  • Lighting a chalice, the symbol of our faith

  • A multi-generational segment we call a “Story For All Ages.”

  • Music, both instrumental and vocal, and in a variety of styles

  • A time for lifting the joys and sorrows

  • A meditation or prayer

  • Readings—ancient or contemporary

  • A sermon given by a professional minister, a guest speaker, or a member of the Congregation

  • An offering, collecting financial donations for the Congregation, or for justice work in the community

“In Unitarian Universalist congregations, we gather in community to support our individual spiritual journeys. We trust that openness to one another’s experiences will enhance our understanding of our own links with the divine, with our history, and with one another.” -Rev. Jonalu Johnstone
