Serving the Congregation

There are many rewarding ways to serve the Congregation. Below is a list of teams, committees, roles, and positions that work together to support United's ministry and mission. We hope you will participate in one or more if you have found a home with us. Please feel welcome to contact any of the contacts listed below.

Congregation Board
The overall governing body of the Congregation. Meetings are open to the members. Board members are elected at our annual meeting in June. Contact: board@uniteduuc.org

Worship Greeters
Every Sunday, they greet worshipers as they arrive, offering a welcome and orientation to newcomers and long-time members.

Coffee Hosts

After the service, coffee hosts greet you downstairs with snacks and conversation. Ellen ‘Potluck’ Poplawski organizes brunches and potlucks.

Religious Education Committee
We are committed to providing quality religious education for our children and youth. They oversee Sunday morning classes, childcare, and our youth group.

Childcare Workers
During our worship service, childcare is available annually with our youngest children (ages 0-6).

Worship Team
Works with the team to provide quality and inspirational worship throughout the year. Designs and leads worship, recruits pulpit guests, and reflects on worship's values and practices.

Worship Facilitators
Lay leaders who facilitate worship, either alongside the minister or the worship leader for the day.

Music Program and Choir
Our music program is diverse and offers many ways to contribute. Join our choir, play an instrument, learn to sing, and help make our worship shine. All are welcome!

Caring Team
At United, we take care of each other. If someone needs support, our community does what it can to help. Sometimes, this means making and providing food, sending cards, offering rides, or simply sitting and listening. The caring team works to identify these needs and determine how best to meet them.

Annual Auction Team
Our annual auction is the largest fundraiser for the Congregation each year, and it also sets the social calendars for many of our members and friends. The auction team plans the event, solicits donations from local businesses, and ensures everyone has a great time. Contact: auction@uniteduuc.org

Finance Committee
The congregation's financial resources allow us to continue our ministries together. The Finance Committee helps with the budget, coordinates annual giving and fundraising, and ensures our finances are in good hands. Contact: Office Administrator: office@uniteduuc.org

Building and Grounds Team
Buildings and Grounds are responsible for the upkeep and repairs of the church property. The cleaning crew keeps the building clean with the help of one-paid cleaner who comes in every two weeks. The landscaping crew works on projects outside the building (shoveling, mowing the lawn, watering the flowers, etc.). Anyone who wants to help can contact Susan Bergmann, Paul Bergmann, or Mike Reavis.

Social Justice Council

A consortium of members and consolidation of work to create a strategic approach to meeting the community’s needs. Check out their section of the website.

Membership Team

Building and maintaining a strong membership is vital to the strength and growth of the UUUC. Team members are the welcoming faces on Sunday mornings or the resources to go to for more information on joining the UUUC. The Team offers classes and information sessions and is happy to meet with those interested in learning more about UU and the UUUC.
